Hi, I'm new to the list. Trying to identify my Patterosns who lived in E Baton Rouge Louisiana in the 1840's. I think the father's name was John L Patterson, the mother's name was Mary. The father died by the 1850 census. There were possibly 5 children, perhaps more: Marie Catherine, Martin, Andrew Jackson, William Henry and John Thomas (my gggrandfather). They moved to Texas by the 1860 census. I'm hoping to find that the mother's name was Dent. I'm also hoping to find other descendants of John Thomas. _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. I'm trying to locate anyone researching Andrew P. Patterson who lived in Kaw Township, Jackson County, Missouri in 1826. He was married to Rachel Unknown and they had 8 children: David, Thomas, Rebecca who married Samuel Sweet, Betsey, Robert, Risin, Andrew (my gg-grandfather) who married Elizabeth Hitchcock (daughter of Isaac Hitchcock), and Margaret who married Silas Hitchcock. Andrew P. Patterson was the first justice of peace for Kaw Township and presided over two presidential elections. He died about 1834, presumably in Kaw Township, Jackson County. His burial place is unknown. George Patterson Sacramento, CA Researching: Patterson, Hitchcock, Green, Williams, Powell, Cole, Bell, and others

I am looking for info on my wife's grandfather, David Snell Patterson. He was born in Knob Noster, Johnson Co, Missouri. He was born in 1872 and died in 1964. I was informed his father was an Ephrim Alexander Patterson and mother was a Margaret Barnett. He had several siblings, names unknown. I know nothing of his parents other than their names (assuming correct). David S. Patterson was married to Mable Ada McMains. My wife also indicated that a cousin, Pat Patterson, was married to Pat O'Brian--an actor. If anyone could assist me in finding info on David S. Patterson, I'd be very appercitive. Sincerily, Edward A. Black, Sr. <[email protected]>
Hi, Haven't listed my Patterson's in a lonng time so he goes, Charles E. Patterson, b. l866-67 in Canada (believe Welland Co., St. Chatherines area) parent could be Albert H. Patterson and Sarah Darby Patterson, Welland, Ont. Charles married Ida Tripp in l888 in Memphis, St. Clair Co., MI and moved shorthly after to Caro, Tuscola Co., MI. I lost the family in Mussey, St. Clair Co., MI in the l910 census but not there in l920. Believe Charles was in Toledo by l930..... Anyone researching any PATTERSON's from Canada? Please write..... Thanks, Sandy

I'm looking for the parents of Betsey (Elizabeth) Boyd Patterson, who married Daniel M. Clark, 5 March, 1799, New Boston, Hillsboro Co. NH. One genealogy sent to me recently indicates they were Robert Patterson and Betsy Furgason, among whose other children were Peter and William; however I found in New Boston Town Records, FHC film #0015366, the following entry: "Robert Paterson & Margerett Livingstone were married Dec. 26th, 1766 - William Paterson son of Robert Paterson & Margerett his wife was born March 19th 1767. John Paterson son of Robert Paterson & Margerett his wife was born June 1 1769. Mary Paterson daughter of Robert Paterson & Margerett his wife was born November 12 1773. *Betty (Betsy?) Boyd Patterson was born Septmeber 18 1773. David was born Dec. 18 1777. Margerett was born May 27 1780. Peter was born June 18 1783." I'm inclined to believe the town records over an unproved genealogy but wonder if anyone knows these families. I'm including another PATTERSON listing found in the town records: "Robert Patterson and Susanna Miller was(sic) married June the 24th 1773 Peter Patterson son to Robert Patterson & Susanna his Wife was born April the 12th 1774 Peter Patterson son of Robert Patterson and Susanna his Wife Died August the 30th 1777 Mary Patterson Daughter to Robert Patterson and Susanna his Wife was Born July the 28th 1776 Rachel Patterson (Daughter to Robert Patterson and Susanna his wife) was Born January the 8th AD1779 John Petterson Son of Robert Petterson and Susanna his Wife Was Born May the 23rd 1781 Grisel Petterson Daughter to Robert Petterson and Susanna his Wife Was Born June the 17th 1783." This fits well with the Robert Patterson and Susanna Miller of the genealogy sent to me, but I do have questions about the other Robert. Was his wife Betsy Furgason? Margerett Livingstone? Or did he marry both women? Was there still another Robert Patterson? Betsey and Daniel Clark's children were Sarah Holmes, Betsy, Jane Barnett, William, Robert Patterson, David, Nancy Stinson, and Bradford. If any of these are familiar, please let me know. Dear Patterson Researchers: I'm new to this list. Would like more information on my husband's ancestor, Sarah PATTERSON, born about 1750, possibly in Iredell Co., NC. She married William BUTTRAM, II, in Rowan Co., NC on 29 Jan. 1780. They lived there, then Irdedell Co., NC, then Lee Co., VA. Sarah is believed to have died in Lee Co., VA; and then William BUTTRAM relocated first to Wayne Co., KY, and finally to White Co., TN, where he died in 1853. William was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. I have been told her parents were James PATTERSON and Rosamond ________. Does anyone have any information on Sarah or her parents? I will gladly exchange information. Sincerely, Anna BERTRAM <[email protected]>

At the time of the 1881 census, William was a furniture dealer living at 8 Moray St in the St. Cuthbert's district of Edinburgh. The census listed children Charlotte age18(who later m. I just got home from a Patterson Reunion at Lynchburg,Tenn. My Pattersons got back to a John Jackson Wesley Patterson who lived all his life in the same spot which covered two counties of Tennessee. I feel like I am right in saying this because I think where he lived was once Lincoln County but could possibly be Franklin County. Where he raised his family became after 1871, Moore County, Tn. What I can't figure out is who is John Jackson Wesley (Jackie's) father. In the 1860 Lincoln County census there is a James Patterson and wife Martha living in the household of a Kirkland family with a very young son named John. Also some Harris children living with them. None of the family has any idea who either the Kiekland or Harris family is. I am still not convinced that the William you are talking about is not the father of Jackie. Since William had both James and John I am about as confused as I can be. Jackie was buried by the funeral home as Jackson Wesley but census says John. So do you look for John, Jackson, Wesley or Jackie? Another thing I wanted to tell you is my Aunt, Eva Lea Jane Patterson married Payton Womble. These people lived in Moore County, Tn. Any relation? I saw my Womble cousins today. Have you looked at Pat Patterson's web page? He has a will on there of a William Patterson. From your description I am not sure whether it is your William or not. Happy Searching. Delores Phillips Sisco
I have John Patterson b. 1730 County Antrium, Ireland, married Margaret Baskin b. CA Chester Co. PA 1735. Margaret was the daughter of Mary STUART and William Baskin. William Baskin died in Augusta Co. VA in 1756. According to an ancestor sheet from another John Patterson descendent, John Patterson was the son of a Robert Patterson b. County Antrim, Ireland and his wife Frances (she has "Patterson," whether that is Frances' maiden name or not, I am not sure). Midge Garza [email protected] mgarza.specent.com (Web page)
