Elisabeth Patterson b.1812 MO. Married Alfred Hodges 1830 in MO. Does anyone know her line of Patterson? Thanks for any help. Brenda [email protected]
As I read this (see below) I wondered if My Patsey Ann Patterson could have some connection here. James Bull/BUELL found her on a mountian in Bell Co. KY with a broken leg, took her home...she was 16 and a run-away, (guess they married, she stayed and had a bunch of kids). They never told where she came from. Never mentioned parents for her. It was like she was dropped from Heaven. I know my mom thought she was! She loved her very much! She was born abt.1840 d.aft.1922 from the census it states she was born in KY, her father in NC and her mother in KY. (census-1910-1920 Bell Co.KY) I know of two children: Mary BULL/BUELL abt.1869 James M. BULL/BUELL abt.1879 Any help on These names would be greatfully excepted. Thank you for your time and help. I am working from a letter left to me by my father 30 years ago. I do not have a first name for the Patterson family supposedly from Richmond, Va. and settling in or around Peoria and operating some kind of store. The building still had some kind of signage that had their name on it up to the 1930's. The daughter of this family married into a family by the name of Bond, and they moved to Springfield. A daughter of that union produced Cari (spelling?)Bond, who was my Great Grandmother, marrying a person Harry Chapman. I am not sure if Harry was a nickname or his real first name. Does any of this sound remotely familiar to anyone from their searches? Thanks for the help, and good wishes for the coming year. Jackie Swikard Shaffer --part0_915317124_boundary--

Hi All I am looking for a Patterson connection as it is my great grandfather's middle name - David Patterson SITES (1870 - 1933). So I have always assumed there were Patterson's behind this line. The other day while perusing the Library of Virginia I ran across another similar name in the McCune Family Bible - Virginia Patterson SITES d. 3 Sept. 1868. I have no idea who she is, it just struck me that the name of PATTERSON and SITES were again together in a name in VA. David's parents were Henry H. SITES and Elizabeth C. HELBERT. I don't think it is behind the SITES side as I have done a lot of research there. So that leaves the HELBERT line. Elizabeth's parents were Levi HELBERT b. 1819 in VA and Sarah SPITZER b. 1818 in VA. Both died in Rockingham Co., VA. The HELBERT name can be Irish so I thought I would run this by the PATTERSON list. Has anyone found HELBERTs or SPITZERs connected with their PATTERSON lines? Any other suggestions? Thanks so much for your help. Lin [email protected] Do any of you
Happy New Year! What you might do is use this: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ussearch.htm Follow their directions and choose a state; and type in; for example, "Patterson AND " (without quotes) for the state you chose; then put whatever you have for information. I did that today for Patterson AND Guilford for South Carolina and drew about 20 files. This is material that people have posted over time. I found several names that are very familiar and histories of different places. Some of these files are big. The biggest I found was 605K so be prepared for most anything. Remember these files are clues not proof positive of anything. You still have to go further and get to the real records. Then use the browser or whatever you use to "find" the name Patterson in the file and you will go directly to Patterson or any name you type in the box to see if anyone relates to you or read about the times our ancestors lived. I found a Baxley Patterson yesterday doing just this. I hope this will help some. Jo Ann Patterson Baxley [email protected]
