Jinks Was Johnson Pate perhaps a son of Cordy Pate of NC and Oglethorpe Co GA? The orphans of Cordy Pate won a land lot in Early Co in the 1820 Georgia Lottery. Cloey Pate, widow of a RS (Cordy) was eligible to draw in the 1821 Lottery and the orphans of Cordy did draw in the 1821 Lottery and won a land lot in Henry Co. The 1820 land was lot 144, District 6, Early Co. The 1821 land was lot 220, District 9, Henry Co. Ownership of these two pieces of land (440 acres net) would be recorded when the winners took possession or when it was sold the first time. If Johnson Pate's name or his guardian's name appears on any of those old deeds, it would go a long way toward substantiating his parents' names. Joel
