He apparently died rather young and perhaps is buried in Escambia (Pensacola) area. If the 1873 birth date for his son Daniel G Pate is accurate, then Bennett no doubt was alive sometime in 1872. Daniel G Pate could have been born after his father's death. Daniel's mother seems to have married a second time to a Mr. Raley, however she died in 1875.
