Can you help me identify this man? Holmes County Advertiser Saturday 16 Dec. 1911 Volume # 20 Killed at Black, Ala. Millard Pate, a popular young man residing at Black, Ala., was shot and killed at that place Friday night of last week. Pate, Bud Jacobs and Sam Keith were at the schoolhouse acting as a committee to decide a debate and while they were deliberating over the subject in a room separated from the main auditorium, the shot was fired that sent young Pate into eternity. It has been reported that Sam Keith has been arrested and charged with the crime, but it is not known what the result was in the preliminary hearing held at Black. Max Yates xamilil@wfeca.net
