ZEIGLER - Sylvia Ann (Pate) Paine, 64, of Zeigler died at 5:40 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Sylvia was born Oct. 10, 1947, in Murphysboro, a daughter to the late Herbert and Anna Margaret (Brewer) Pate. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Zeigler, and was a retired care provider in home health care. Following her wishes, cremation has been accorded. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in First Christian Church in Zeigler, with Pastor Jason Mahaffey officiating. Family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to Sylvia's family and will be accepted at the memorial service. Survivors include two sons, Christopher Sheppard of Maryland, and Travis Bush of Royalton; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Collette, Bryce, Alex and Chloe Sheppard, and Jacob and Stephanie Bush; three sisters, and one brother-in-law, Linda A. Holland of Zeigler, Judy Davenport of Carbondale and Karen and Cliff Cahoon of Murphysboro; and several stepchildren and step-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one step-grandchild and one brother-in-law, John Holland.
