Doris Jones Pate, 82, passed away Wednesday at her residence, The Sterling House. The family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church, with funeral services following at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Billy Olsen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Doris was born in Craven County July 2, 1927, to the late Coy Jones and Cynthia Braswell Jones. She was married to the late Jason Thomas Pate Sr. Doris was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church. Doris is survived by her son, Tommy Pate and wife, Kathy, of Goldsboro; her daughter, Deborah Vogel and husband, Don, of *Greer*, S.C.; her sister, Dorothy Dillman of Louisburg; her grandchildren, James Thomas Pate III and wife, Kelly, Mary-Kathryn Hixson and husband, Todd, Nancy Brislin and husband, Neal, and Adam Vogel; and five grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Daisy Jones Holloman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pine Forest United Methodist Church, 867 N.C.
