JENKINS, PEGGY BRYAN Age 84, of Oneonta, AL, passed away October 5, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Riley Thomas Bryan and Oma Scruggs Bryan. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Jenkins; parents; two infant sons; and uncle, Perry Hammett. Peggy was a graduate of Susan Moore, Class of 1946. She received her Master's in Education at the University of Georgia, and retired as a Jr. High Teacher after having taught in Alabama and Missouri. Peggy was a member of Lester Memorial UMC, Blount County Low Vision Group, Blount County Historical Society, and an avid member and tireless fundraiser for many charities; and an avid dog lover. Surviving are her brother, Robbie Frank Bryan (Sandra) of Susan Moore; nephews, Chad Bryan and Keith Bryan (Shuna) of Susan Moore; niece, Sonya White (Earl) of Gardendale; great nieces, Leah White of Gardendale and Marisa Bryan of Susan Moore; two caregivers, Betty Hammett and Zach Teal; her beloved dog, Suzie; and a host of other beloved relatives, students and friends. Visitation: Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 5:30 until 8:00 at Valley Chapel of Oneonta. Funeral service: Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 2:00 at Valley Chapel of Oneonta. Interment: Wynnville Cemetery.
