    3. Mrs. Shirley Elizabeth Catoe Cauthen, 77, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at her home. She was born March 29, 1935 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Grover C. Catoe and Thelma Robinson Catoe. Mrs. Cauthen was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries. She was a family-oriented person who loved her garden. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Cauthen will be held at 2 p.m. today Dec. 26, 2012, in the chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Larrimore officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Cauthen is survived by her husband, Charles L. Cauthen of Lancaster; a son, C. Ross Cauthen of Columbia; two daughters, Annette Miles and her husband, Robert, and Wanda Adams and her husband, Michael, all of Lancaster; a brother, Otis Catoe of Lancaster; three sisters, Nancy Hefner and her husband Jerry of Fort Lawn, Linda Anderson of Charleston, and Judy Robertson of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Robin Helms, Robert Miles, Dustin Pate, Taylor Pate, Destiny Hall, and Alex Hall; and five great grandchildren, Gracie Helms, Brodie Helms, Peyton Miles, Carson Miles and Bradon Miles. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today, Dec. 26, 2012, at Lancaster Funeral Home; and other times at the home of Scott and Robin Helms, 2045 Jack Robertson Lane, Lancaster.
