She was age 18 years and 4 months when she drown on 12 Feb 1866. 2. 1870 census of Mobile Co AL, page 44, Ward 1, Mobile, site 569/619, shows a David Pate age 25 b AL and an apparent wife, Eliza Pate, age 25 b AL. Could not be the Eliza Pate who died 12 Feb 1866. Some questions:- Who was the Eliza Pate in the 1870 census? Was she in fact the wife of David E B Pate? If so, what was her maiden name? Where and when did they marry? What became of her? Was there issue? 3. Escambia Co FL census records for 1880 show David Pate at ED 42, sheet 24, Pensacola, site 279/280, as a widower. Escambia Co FL marriage records has a marriage of David E B Pate and Eliza Tippins 14 Apr 1881. Questions: What was her maiden name? Who were her parents?
