In the continuing search for John, David, and William Pate who were named in an 1851 relief bill in the US House of Representatives, the House Journal indicated that they were from Illinois. The Regimental rosters for IL units in the Mexican War contained four PATE names. See below. Nothing on John or David Pate. It MAY be that they served but were not properly recorded and paid Joseph, Lewis and Simeon Pate were in State units, William Pate was in a Federal unit.
