    1. Re: [PATE] Henry Brown Pate

    3. Barbara: I suspect that Henry Brown Pate was not enumerated in the 1870 census. He was in Itawamba Co in the 1860 census and in Tishomingo Co in the 1880. It would appear that some time after the 1860 census and before the 1880 Henry Brown Pate and his family moved south into Tishomingo Co, which adjoins Itawamba to the south. Two items MAY give you some clues. 1st His son Christianberry Pate married Penelope Gillentin 26 Dec 1867 in Itawamba Co 2nd In the 1880 census of Tishomingo Co Henry b Pate was enumerated at Enumeration Dist 199, sheet 18, page 92, dist 92, site 141/141. His son Christianberry was at site 142/142 My GUESS - they moved down to Tishomingo Co after 1867, but before 1880. There were no county boundary changes between Itawamba and Tishomingo during that time period so they physically moved from one county to another. Henry B Pate age 72 was enumerated in the 1900 census of Tishomingo Co. Apparently with a second wife - Mary I think you may have information on the grave sites of Henry and Christianberry Joel ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara Goree" <goree@tstar.net> To: <PATE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 20, 2003 7:12 PM Subject: [PATE] Henry Brown Pate > Can not find Henry Brown Pate in 1870 census in either Itawamba Co. or > Tishomingo Co., Miss. > Does anybody know where he was in 1870. > > Thanks, > Barbara > > >
