There seems to be a relationship between the Phillips and the Pates. In July 1823 Joannaer Rucker in Madison Co Al (per Nelson Co Va Deed Record Bk 4 p.520) Zachariah Phillips, Joseph Phillips, Joannaaer Rucker and Nacny Griffin, all of Madison Co Al appoints Willis Phillips their true and lawful attorney to collect all due from the estate of Frances Phillips, dec of Va. In 1830 Z. B. Phillips and Jesse H. Phillips both have homes (and Z. B. is the census taker) in Dyer CO, TN Record provided by Harold Davis On the ancestry board Pate there is a plat showing the division of Talleys land, mentioning John Pate dec. (also mention of J. M. (or W) Pate. On top there is a "J. F. Phillips". My computer and I do not see a date. I believe the message is 1094 Pates mentioned are Rebecca, Maria, Williamson B. John W. to have property.
