I am sorry but no, I don't have any info on that line of Pate's, my family went to Missouri about 1900 from Obion County, TN, but were in Scott County, MO, I think there was another group of Pate's that were in Missouri earlier, but for the life of me I can not find that info. I will try my best to locate it for you..... Maybe there is a connection there. Have you tried the LDS census for 1880, it won't have John Pate but may have his wife and children. I'll look around to see what I can find.
