I was in Atlanta yesterday at the GA archives, so I looked at the microfilm of the Wilkinson Co GA marriage records. It did not help clear the census mystery, other than the fact that B F Pate did marry a Laney Taylor 24 Apr 1867. Maybe the 1870 census taker just made a big mess of the family when recording all the people. The son Samuel may have died before 1880 census.
