Cordie's parents were Beverly Archie Pate b. 1846, died 1925, in Butler County, Ky. He married #1 Christina Baxter in 1877 in Butler County, Ky. They had one son, William Thomas Pate b. 1877 in ButlerCounty,Ky. Beverly A. Pate later married #2 Kathern Sorrels b. 1856, died 1925 in Butler County, Ky. They m. 1880 in Butler County, Ky. and had these children: Mose Pate b. 1880, Maggie Bell Pate b. 1884, Butler County, Ky., Cordie D. b. 1894, Leoria b. ? Beverly A. Pate's parents were Richard Dabney Pate, b. 1815, in VA, died ? and Mary E. Belcher b. 1815 in VA. Richard seems to be the first Pate to come to Butler County, Ky.
