Query: Carolyn Moore, seymore01@insightbb.com Ancestry.com Bulletin Board - PATE Searching for the family of Nathaniel Pate m 1) Nancy 2) Julia Etta (Weaver) Tredaway. Nathaniel and Nancy were in Chickasaw Co, MS in 1840 & 1850. Nathaniel and Julia were married 5-25-1879 in Faulkner Co, AR. any info on this family appreciated. My reply: Nathaniel Pate, per the 1850 census of Chickasaw Co MS had, among others, a son Benjamin age 15 and a son Nathaniel age 4. The son Nathaniel MAY be the Nathaniel C Pate in the 1880 census of Van Buren Co AR, page 464, Enumeration Dist. 39, sheet 39, Griggs Twsp, site 362/362. The wife, Mary E Pate, is PERHAPS Mary Etta Treadaway, married 15 Dec 1872 in Conway Co., AR. Mary Etta Treadaway is PERHAPS the dau of E. Andrew Jackson Treadaway and Julia Etta Weaver The son Benjamin MAY be the Benjamin Pate in the 1880 census of Faulkner Co AR, page 647, enumeration Dist. 55, sheet 26, Muddy Bayou, site 227/250. This Benjamin has a son named Nathaniel. Also in the 1880 census of Faulkner Co AR, at page 622, Enum. Dist. 54, sheet 3, Matthews Twsp, site 30/32, is Nathan (Nathaniel) Pate and wife Juliett. One interesting entry in the 1870 census of Pulaski Co AR, page 392, Prairie Twsp, Little Rock PO, site 73/74 is this household: Nathan Pate 50 W/M -TN Sylvania Pate 14 W/F -MS Julia A Pate 12 W/F -MS E Andrew Jackson Treadaway supposedly died during the civil war period. Did older Nathaniel Pate marry his son's mother in law? Asked in a different format was Julia Etta Weaver Treadaway the mother in law and later the step mother of the younger Nathaniel Pate?
after re-reading your info, I have this to add: the "interesting" entry in the 1870 Pulaski Co, AR census would "probably" be Nathaniel b abt 1810 TN and his 2 youngest children. I have them listed as: Sylvanter Pate b abt 1855 MS Julia A. Pate b abt 1857 MS, married Silas Bowen, 2-22-1880 Carolyn ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joel Pate" <patej@nettally.com> To: <PATE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 18, 2003 3:03 PM Subject: [PATE] Nathaniel Pate - TN-MS-AR > > > > > Query: > Carolyn Moore, seymore01@insightbb.com > Ancestry.com Bulletin Board - PATE > Searching for the family of Nathaniel Pate m 1) Nancy 2) Julia Etta (Weaver) Tredaway.
