    3. A few notes on this family -- Sarah (Jenkins) Pate, widow of Isaac Lewis Pate filed for bounty land on his service in the War of 1812 -- She states they md Sep or Oct 1818 in Edgefield, SC; Lewis Pate died 1823 or 1824 on a trip to FL; Her maiden name was Jenkins, and she was b. 10 Dec 1791, (d. 2 Nov 1881); Their children were: Samuel B Pate, b. 6 May 1820, Charles R Pate, b. 5 Jun 1821; Bryant (dec'd by 1879); Julian Minor and Emeline Lewis. The Sally Pate in 1840 Sumter Co, SC is probably Sarah Jenkins Pate -- if so, the two daus, Julian and Emeline were probably already married, since there are only 4 males shown with Sally, and they COULD fit the ages of Samuel, Charles & Bryant, and there may have been another male that died young. I would not say Deany Lewis (1850 Forsythe Co, GA) and Emeline Pate Lewis are one and the same -- Deany from the 1850 census was b. ca 1831 and Emeline Pate was shown to have been born ca 1810-20; and at least before 1823/24 when her father died.
