Ace: There is a bit of information on Richmond Love Pate in Carroll Co TN prior to the 1860 census. He does appear in the 1840 census of Carroll Co. There were 13 people enumerated in the household. There were: 1 w/m 5-10, 1 w/m 10-15 and 1 w/m 20-30; 1 w/f 5-10, 1 w/f 10-15 and 1 w/f 50-60 the remaining 7 were slaves. Richmond L Pate does not appear in the 1830 census, however there is an R L Pate in the Weakley Co TN 1830 slave census. This could be Richmond L Pate and could indicate that he had land in Weakley Co. In the 1860 census of Carroll Co TN the apparent dau "A Pate" age 18 b TN is no doubt Apsley W Pate who married David Westcott Henry. If you have not done so, I would encourage you to study the 1850 and 1860 censuses of Carroll Co TN to see if you can spot your Henry family. The indexes for those two censuses indicates that there were 4 Henry family households in Carroll Co in each year. It seems that I have reached a dead end in my search for info regarding my Great Grandfather, David Wescott HENRY, so I thought I would give this approach a shot. My great grandfather married Apsley W. PATE in 1861, who was the daughter of Richmond Love PATE and Alta Zora THOMAS PATE. Would you have any information at all on this PATE line that you can share with me. I am primarily looking for info on the family back ground of my GrGrandfather and am writing you as you have such a vast amount of PATE information in the hope that maybe through the PATE connection some of that information may have drifted over. I know that this is a long shot in the dark, but at this stage in my hunting, I will try most anything. Thanks for any help. Ace Henry
