    3. I apologize if I've sent this to the list in the past, but I've been re-reading a roll of newspaper microfilm and it has me thinking about this again. Macon Georgia Telegraph Microfilm roll: Feb 1839-Apr 1842 2 June 1840 Will be sold same time and place [Perry, Houston Co Ga 1st Tue June next] Three work steers; 1 ox cart, 7 head of sheep; 1 sow;and 1 wooden clock; levied on as the property of Jos Tillman, to satisfy a mortgage fi fa issued from Houston Inferior Court, in favor of Green B Burney, Exr. of R Pate dec' d, vs said Tillman I'm looking into Tillman family connections to Samuel Pate (b c1790/1800- d bef 25 July 1848 Twiggs Co, GA) since he reputed named a son Tillman Pate--not your ordinary 1st name for a child. Does anyone know anything about the Joseph (or Josiah) Tillman mentioned in the above notice newspaper notice? How about the Green B Burney & R Pate--who are they? Thanks, Lindy Hard

    3. Lindy: Sorry, should have checked before I responded. I do have some thing on Robert W Pate. He married Hannah Edmonds in Jefferson Co GA in Apr 1825. He was enumerated in the 1830 census of Jefferson Co GA. Hannah Edmonds Pate married Washington Belcher in Jul 1832. I would concluded that Robert W Pate was deceased prior to 1832 a therefore PERHAPS be a candidate for the "R. Pate, dec'd" in the case you are looking at. Where this Robert W Pate came from I have nothing on.
