I have been going through this Matthew -maze for years now. I would appreciate having the 'source' for the children of M. Pate & Dabney...would anyone know of it? 1. I question why my maternal gr-gr-grandmother Margery (Elizabeth?) PATE, b. 1782-1783 was not listed with them. 2. According to handwritten notes of the Family Bible, Anna DAUBNEY (or some such spelling) is listed (without dates), and Matthew PATE listed of VA, as parents. I do not have the actual Bible, just notes made from it by one of my Aunts many years ago. 3. My maternal grandfather's name was Matthew Pate Sistler, grandson of Margery Pate, namesake of Matthew Pate. Any help that can be offered would be very welcomed.
