    3. Thanks Joel, I'm not questioning whether or not Samuel Pate had a son named Benamin F Pate, but whether or not the Benjamin Pate listed on Wilkinson Co GA 1870 is the same Ben F Pate as on the 1880 Wilkinson Co GA. I have reliable proof that Samuel Pate had son Benjamin F Pate b abt 1847, although I have temporarily lost the exact date of the newspaper. Abt 1851. Union Recorder. Twiggs Co GA. Lewis Soloman, ordinary applies for letters of guardianship on estate of Nancy J, Isaac, Martha M, Elijah, and Benjamin F, minor heirs of Samuel Pate, dec'd. Benjamin F Pate is on 1850 Census Twiggs Co GA age 3 in Elizabeth Pate (assumed to be his mother) household along with the same siblings listed as minor heirs of Samuel Pate in the Union Recorder notice; 1860 Census Twiggs Co GA age 13 in Eli S Griffin household along with brother Elijah. If the 1870/1880 Wilkinson Co GA censuses are of the same Benjamin Pate, then he must have had another child, Samuel Pate b c1869, and his wife must have had an expanded name including Martha (if the 1867 marriage date to Amsey Delaney Taylor is correct.) Thanks for the descendants. I notice in doing a search for Annie Pate Lavender (d/o Benjamin F Pate), there is a posting to the Lavender rootsweb board 30 Dec 2000 by Angela Kennedy akenn10527@aol.com who is stating that she has a picture of John Lavender, wife Annie Pate & daughter Irene of Wilkinson Co GA. I will look for an obituary for Benjamin F Pate if I can find his death date. Thanks again for you reply, Lindy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joel Pate" <patej@nettally.com> To: <PATE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2003 5:09 PM Subject: Re: [PATE] Pate/Wilkinson Co GA 1870/1880 census
