Jeremy, since you seem to be a new researcher to Pate genealogy, did you see the 1864 letter that went on sale on e-bay in 2002 from your ancestor Jane Moore Pate to her husband James Pate who was away at war? If not, I made a transcription of the letter and have it in my database and will send it to you. I have no idea who bought the letter.
