    3. Joel, You mentioned some war-time correspondence between Mary Jane "Jincy" Moore Pate and her husband, James David Pate. Point Jeremy in the direction of that correspondence. They can supplement and occassionally substitute for lost marriage certificates, etc. The United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) has accepted copies of 'time-sensative' documents as proof of marriage or birth. <http://www.hqudc.org/> The National Archives has Compiled Service Records for all Confederate States.
