    3. Sorry for the third email, but I would like to get some information (ideally, information that is accurate and provable) on Sir John Pate (Baronet? of Sisonby, Leicestershire). Is this Sir John Pate, husband of Elizabeth Skipwith, the father of the Maj. Thomas Pate who immigrated to Virginia and who was a Magistrate for Gloucester, VA? John Ben Pate, in "History of Turner County" mentions that Maj. Thomas Pate was Magistrate in 1686. I think that Sir John Pate was his father, but I do not know for sure. Jeremy Utt Powhatan Co., VA

    3. I believe that you are right. My husband (Danny Pate) has a copy of the Pate Family Genealogy that was done about 1900 by Rev. John Ben Pate. It was passed down to him by his great Aunt Cassie Cornelia Pate, daughter of Maxie Pate and Alma Riddle. This book is very fragile and at the present time it is packed up because we are in the process of moving. After we get moved and I unpack it, I will take a look. This little book starts with Sir John Pate who if memory serves me, was a Knight in Leichestershire England. Don't remember his wife's name or even if she was mentioned. 3. I'd like to know where Rev. John Ben Pate got his information. He makes some great claims, but the claims are certainly not going to be easy to prove. When convenient/possible, would you be willing to make me some photocopies of some of the information in the book. If so, I'll tell you what I would like to have (ideally). Thanks, Jeremy Utt
