My husband had a Great Uncle Named James Daniel Pate. That is who he was named for. (Daniel) He was the son of Maxie Pate and Alma Riddle of Turner County. Our Uncle "Jim" was not born until after the Civil War but he could have had another Uncle or Grandfather with that same name that he was named for.
