    3. Gentlemen, Basically, I am just trying to find out if my ancestor "James D. Pate" (most likely, "James David Pate") was a Confederate soldier. I believe that this man might have served in Co. E, 5th Georgia Reserves. James D. Pate was most likely from Wilcox Co., GA (but he could have been from Pulaski Co., GA, I think). His wife's name was (Mary) Jane "Jincy" Moore. His mother, who I believe was still living at the time of his probable military service, was named Temperance Parkerson Pate (maiden name Parkerson). James D. Pate did not live long after the War. I believe he died in August 1865. What I am trying to do is find concrete evidence that shows that James D. Pate was a Confederate soldier. If I am successful, my mother may be able to join the UDC. However, we really just want to know one way or the other. Thanks, Jeremy B. 3. I do not have a lot, but I will share what I have with you if you will email me directly. Our Pate line came from Pulaski County to Worth/Turner County. I wish I could get to my old Pate History Book that is packed up in storage. I might be able to help with some of this. 3. Diana, Any help will be much appreciated. Please not that I believe I am descended from a "James David Pate", NOT a "James Daniel Pate". However, I could be wrong. If a Pate researcher can tell me for sure that "James David Pate" married a (Mary) Jane "Jincy" Moore, and had a son named John Thomas Pate, I would greatly appreciate it.
