    3. The legal shorthand "fi fa" is from the Latin term "fieri facias". Basically it was a court order to "let this be done". >From English common law. Widely used in Colonial and post Colonial Georgia Akin to a more modern Writ of Execution or Sheriff's Execution. All ordering the sheriff to seize some property, real or personal, sell that property in a public auction and pay the plaintiff who has a judgement against the property owner. Interesting that the 202 1/2 acre lot, # 54, in 6th District of Henry Co, property of Aaron Pate, was seized and sold for taxes. Aaron Pate was named in a large number of "fi fa" executions in Henry Co, but usually as the Deputy Sheriff assigned to carry out the "fi fa". Aaron Pate of Henry Co won two lots, both 202 1/2 acres, in the 1827 Georgia Land lottery, but the properties were not in Henry Co. Joel
