I was looking at the Echols Co GA rootsweb archives for David Johnson/Sarah Pate family (William Pate line) and found the Muster Roll of Co G 50th Reg't GA Inf, CSA, Army of Northern VA, Clinch & Echols counties, Clinch Volunteers William A. P. Johnson [listed by John Ben Pate as William Allen Pate Johnson, b 21 Jan 1844, s/o David & Sarah Pate Johnson] This muster roll has him as Pvt 4 Mar 1862. Left command without permission & joined Co D, 9th Florida Inf 6 Oct 1862. Returned to this company... [has a good bit of info listed. Later received pension]... (Born in Dooly county, Ga. Jan 21, 1843. Died abt 1928.) Does anyone know if correct birth date is 1843 or 1844? Also, in this same company are: John Johnson, b1841 who left command & joined the same Co D 9th FL Inf Riley Johnson, discharged underaged... [later] enlisted Co I 4th Regt GA Inf 2 Jan 1863 Thomas Johnson William S Johnson, b 1843 left without permission & joined Co D 9th FL Inf Also, on the 1880 Census Clinch county GA in the household of Dickson Griffis is Sarah Johnson, age 61, mother-in-law. Is this Sarah Pate Johnson?
