Lindy: My speculation of 1832 as the marriage date for Susan Diane Pate to James J Everett was based on the stated age ( b ca 1833) of the oldest child. It is certainly plausible that it was a second marriage for him. The use of the given name "Diane" in Pate families is a bit infrequent. Benjamin Pate of NC and Dale Co AL and his wife Clarissa Moore had a dau named Diane but the ages do not line up for her to be the Susan Diane Pate. Some of the Pate lines in Dale and Geneva Co AL have ties back to Thomas Co GA. More digging. Joel
