LOWERY, JULIA KATHERINE PATE - born April 17, 1915, age 89, went to be with the Lord, August 21, 2004. She was a lifetime member of the South Knoxville Church of God. Her husband, Oscar Lowery, parents, George and Eliza Pate, brothers, Howard, Roy and Fred Pate, sister, Margaret Pate and daughter, Patricia Perry preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Christine Whitehead and husband, Lawrence of Knoxville; grandchildren, Carolyn Bryant and husband, Larry of Lenoir City, Jospeh Perry, Thomas Whitehead, Timothy Whitehead, Melinda Perry; grandson in law, Luther Ray Perry, Debra Cooper and husband, Billy all of Knoxville; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Rev. and Mrs. Robert Branch, Shannon Edwards and the Baptist Hospital Hospice Unit and hospice nurses and staff at Hillcrest West Nursing Home. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday August 22nd at Highland South Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations with funeral services at 2 p.m. Monday August 23rd at the funeral home, with Rev. Robert Branch officiating. Burial wil be in Highland South Memorial Park. Grandsons will serve as pall bearers. Arrangements are by Highland South Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations, 573-7300.
