Jinks, The Pates in the 12th Civil District were not the same as the Pates in the 2nd CD. I don't know how to explain the difference, except that my Pates were from the area of the 12 CD and the Ala. Pates were in the 2nd CD. There was a Stephen Pate in my area and also a Stephen Pate in the area of the 2nd CD. I do not think they were one and the same. Margaret Pate Finley
