Pate will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2004 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, with Rev. Ed Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in Alexandria National Cemetery, Pineville. Mrs. Pate, "Granny", 88, of Pineville passed away Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 in Hilltop Nursing Home. Granny was born June 7, 1916 in Melder to Jesse and Belle Terrell. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Franks; her second husband, L.C. Pate; daughter, Helen Duncan; her parents, Jesse and Belle Terrell; her brothers, Clarence, Lester, and Avery Terrell; and her sisters, Avis Smith and Mae Belle Guillot. She is survived by her son-in-law, Bruce Duncan of Pineville; her grandsons, Danny Duncan (Rhonda) of St. Louis, Mo., and Robert Duncan (Donna) of Pineville; her granddaughter, Beth Dipuma (Donald) of Pineville; her sister, Rose Williams of Pineville; her great-grandchildren, Ashli Lacaze, Trey Dipuma, Miranda and Ryan Duncan, Meagan and Bryan Ober, Alan Nesbitt; and nieces, Glenda Monroe, Shirley Blankenship and Darline McNeil. Pallbearers will be Vance Lacaze, Robert Duncan, Danny Duncan, Donald Dipuma, Junior Hebron, Trey Dipuma and Ryan Duncan. Friends may call today Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004 at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until time of service. =====
