    3. Michael Lawson "Fat Mike" Pate 1940 - 2003 MICHAEL PATE, 63, a barbecue cook, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral: Tuesday at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Time of service is pending. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Baumgardner Funeral Home. Survivors: Daughters, Angie Conley and husband, Todd, Amy Pate, Jodie Rudel and husband, Todd; brother, Alfred R. Pate Jr. and wife, Sydney; and grandchildren, Aaron, Addison and Lexy. Published in the Star-Telegram on 10/6/2003. Mary Helen Pate 1912 - 2004 PATE, MARY HELEN was born October 25, 1912 in Gibsland, Louisiana and passed away July 17, 2004 in Rowlett, Texas. She was one of ten children. Preceded in death by; husband, Eldon B. Pate; son, Robert Eldon Pate. Vennie Ray Pate 1917 - 2004 VENNIE RAY HILBURN PATE, 87, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2004, in Granbury, where she had lived for the past 25 years. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Martin's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Holly Hills Memorial Park, Granbury. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. Born in Fort Worth on Jan. 11, 1917, Ray lived in the Stephenville area as a youngster, where on June 3, 1936, she married Ray A. Pate of Stephenville. In 1951, the family moved to Fort Worth where they lived in the Arlington Heights area. Ray was employed by Drumstick Inc. for 20 years until she and her husband retired to Granbury in 1979. A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Ray and her husband attended Pearl Street Church of Christ in Granbury where she worshipped until her illness. Ray's hobbies included helping and serving others, especially the sick and elderly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, in 1989; and by her parents, Dealey Briley Hilburn and Mark Hilburn; and her brother Day Hilburn. Survivors: Son, Kenneth Pate and wife, J'Nell, of Azle; daughter, Cheryl Lanfear and husband, Frank, of Georgetown; grandsons, Jeffrey Lanfear of Buffalo, NY, and Jarrett Lanfear of Tacoma, WA; sister-in-law, Neomi Pate of Stephenville; and many nieces and nephews. Maggie Lee Pate 1912 - 2004 MAGGIE LEE PATE, 92, a residential property manager in Fort Worth's hospital district, died Monday, June 28, 2004, at a Temple nursing home. Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Itasca Cemetery in Itasca. Memorials: Gladney Center for Adoption, 6300 John Ryan Dr., Fort Worth, Texas 76132. Maggie Lee Pate was born Feb. 22, 1912, in Itasca, to Thomas A.and Pearl Foushee Batts. She married Samuel H. Pate, who preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1950. She managed residential property in the hospital district of Fort Worth, and lived in Fort Worth from 1939 to 2003. She was a resident of Kents Nursing Center in Fort Worth from 1995 to 2003, when she moved to Temple. She was active with the Senior Activity Center in Fort Worth, involved in poetry, and was a published poet. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas A. Batts, in 1941; her mother, Pearl Foushee Batts in 1914; her brothers, Arthur Foushee of Poplar Bluff, MO., in 1961 and R.J. Foushee of Dallas, in 1974; and her sisters, Elsie Kennedy of Hillsboro, in 1972, and Kathryn Batts of Fort Worth, in 1997. Survivors: Great-niece, Nancy Riddle of Temple; niece, Juanita Erwin of Hillsboro; and nephew, Jim Foushee, of Lubbock. Published in the Ft Worth Star-Telegram on 6/29/2004
