PATE MOCKSVILLE Bettie Vannie Pate June 14, 1919 - March 17, 2012 Bettie Vannie (Brown) Pate, 92, of Mocksville, NC went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at her home. Born June 14, 1919, in Hollow Rock, Carroll County, TN she was the daughter of the late John Eli Brown and Maude Estelle Walker. She is survived by two brothers, William Doy Brown of Orlando, FL and Stephen Timothy Brown of Sharon, TN; three sons, Dr. Jerry C. Pate, of Woodbridge, VA, William H. Pate Jr., of Charlotte, NC and Dr. Peter A. Pate of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Patricia P. Burgoyne of Chattanooga, TN and Pamela P. Schill of Mocksville, NC; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Pate; a sister, Thelma (Brown) Case of Trenton, GA and four brothers, Thedford M. Brown of Houston, TX; John C. Brown of Camden, TN; Marion Luke Brown of Dallas, TX and James Sidney Brown of Yadkinville, NC. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Brown officiating.
