I heartily thank those who have spoken up and told me that they appreciated my efforts. Several wanted this to continue in some form. I was offered another site owned by this List-Serve owner, but I know nothing about setting up, designing, and operating a List-Serve, so I declined the offer to transfer ownership to me. Also, I receive a RootsWeb Page from this List-Serve generally once a day which has an index at the top so that one can see what each message is about. So, I was not aware that people receive an e-mail each time that a posting is put up. I can understand why receiving so many messages might annoy some. Many people have said that the easy solution is to delete what you don't want to read. Finally, and this is the last that I have to say about this issue, is that in the past I posted on this List-Serve as well as to the Pate GenForum surname page. I have had trouble logging onto that page for awhile, but now that the problem is solved, I will post obits there. Those of you who are still interested in seeing obits and/or filing them can view them at your leisure on that site. Just go to the Pate Family Genealogy Forum http://genforum.genealogy.com/pate/.
