Virginia Straughter Pate A native of Tunica, La. and resident of St. Francisville, she died on Wednesday morning, Nov. 21, 2012. She was 82 and a homemaker. Visiting at St. Francisville Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 29 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Viewing at Magnolia B.C. Friday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Larry Pate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery at noon. Survivors include her daughters, Dorine Pate Veal of Millbury, Mass. and Doretha Pate Frias of Worcester, Mass.; sons, Morgan Pate, Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C., Roy Chester Pate of Garner, N.C., Oliver Pate of St. Francisville, Ulysses Samuel Pate of Baton Rouge and Michael Pate of Solitude, La.; sisters, Beryl Straughter of Tunica and Ethel Straughter of St. Francisville; 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 grand doggies. Preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Melissa S. Straughter; sister, Florence Haney; husband, Morgan Pate, Sr. and grandchildren Tyrese S. Simms and Christopher Pate. Pallbearers will be Herman Straughter, Pernell Straughter, Henry Allen Straughter, Lester Straughter and David Straughter. Honorary pallbearers are Morgan Pate, Jr., Oliver Pate, Michael Pate, Roy Chester Pate, Ulysses Pate and Alan Michael Pate. Arrangements by St. Francisville Funeral Home.
