Lucy Rowan "Sis" Pate Pate, Lucy Rowan 'Sis' Greater Hollywood Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Published in The Advocate on January 2, 2009   Lucy Rowan "Sis" Pate A homemaker and a resident and native of St. Francisville, she died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at her home. She was 85. Visiting at Capitol Funeral Home on Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Religious service at Greater Hollywood Baptist Church on Friday, Jan. 2, at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Larry Pate Sr. Interment in the church cemetery. She is survived by six daughters, Ora Gafeney, Mary Butler and Evelyn Smith, all of Chicago, Deloris Cobb, of Baton Rouge, and Gloria and Margaret Pate, both of St. Francisville; four sons, Lawrence Pate, Leroy Pate and Daniel Pate, all of Chicago, and Christopher Johnson, of St. Francisville; a sister, Albertine Verdin, of Baton Rouge; 23 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lucy Rowan; husband, Samuel Pate Sr.; a son, Samuel Pate Jr.; three sisters and four brothers. Published in The Advocate on December 30, 2008
