Mr. Bevie O. Pate Heflin, LA- Funeral services for Mr. Bevie O. Pate, 98, of Heflin, LA will be held Friday, May 11, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Bistineau Baptist Church in Heflin, LA under the direction of Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold, LA. Burial will follow in Bistineau Cemetery in Heflin, LA. Officiating will be Bro. Wayne Reeves, Bro. Wayne Whiteside, and Bro. Everett Geis, Jr. Mr. Pate was born January 25, 1909 in Shelby County, TX and passed away May 9, 2007. He worked in construction building many homes and churches and he also worked at the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant. He was a member of Bistineau Baptist Church in Heflin, LA for over seventy years. Mr. Pate was a family man, loved by his family and the whole community. He was a very caring man that was always helping and giving to others. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Pate; a daughter, Laverne Wallace; a son, Sonny Boy Pate; and a granddaughter, Denise W. Howell. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and J. W. (Buddy) Carter of Heflin, LA and Johnnie and Charles Morgan of Heflin, LA; son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Joan Pate of Austin, TX; son-in-law, Odell Wallace of Heflin, LA; brother and sister-in-law, Aubrey and Norma Pate of East Mountain, TX; sister-in-law, Helen Pate of Ringgold, LA; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jonathan Wallace, Kevin Morgan, Randy Monk, Briley Joe and Colton Carter, David and Brandon Reeves, Steve Burnett and Cliff Wallace. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Morrow, Billy Morrow, Percy Morrow, Scotty Woodard, Frank Adams, and Earl Uzzle.
