BTW, for anyone who may be interested, several LDS databases, including the Internation Genealogical Index, the Ancestry File, and a transcription of the 1880 Federal Census of the U.S., are searchable at the following address: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search .asp I find these can be good sources of clues on where to look for your ancestor in a given timeframe, but I recommend always obtaining primary source records if at all possible.
