Doris L. Cooke Pate MARIANNA - Doris Lorraine Cooke "Cookie" Pate, age not given, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna. The service will be at 11 a.m. CST Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Sneads, with burial at Pope Cemetery following the service at the church. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. CST today at Lanier-Andler Funeral Home (850-593-9900), 8261 Highway 90 E., Sneads. She was born March 3, 1925, in Quincy to Malcombe and Shannie Cooke, both of Grand Ridge. She attended public schools in Jackson and Gadsden counties. She was a loving wife and mother. She taught Sunday school for many years at the First Baptist Church in Sneads. Survivors include a son, Daniel Pate (and wife Diane) of Marianna; a granddaughter, Andrea Murray of Jacksonville; two grandsons, Randy Pate (and wife Lisa) of Fremont, N.C., and Eddie Pate of Goldsboro, N.C.; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Pate ! Sr.; a son, William H. Pate Jr.; and a daughter, Linda Suzanne Arentzen. Published in the Tallahassee Democrat on 11/28/2005
