    3. Karen: George Washington Pate Thomas Jefferson Pate James Madison Pate Andrew Jackson Pate Grover Cleveland Pate {I can even find you one John Quincy Adams Pate) Our Pate ancestors honored our Presidents by naming their children after them. Our ancestors also honored American patriots, military leaders and heroes as well as statesmen by naming children after them Henry Clay Pate Benjamin Franklin Pate Nathanael Greene Pate Jefferson Davis Pate Nancy Hart Pate Freeman Walker Pate Sam Houston Pate Stonewall Jackson Pate (Thomas Jonathan Jackson) Robert Edward Lee Pate. And then there are the biblical names- Isaac Pate Jacob Pate Jeremiah Pate Zachariah Pate Solomon Pate Jesse Pate Gabriel Pate Gideon Pate Shadrack Pate Ablemlic Pate Elijah Pate I suspect that the two men named James Madison Pate, one born 24 Nov 1890 and one born 8 Mar 1800 were not directly related and were coincidentally named the same. Keep digging and sharing.
