    1. William B. Pate a problem
    2. Joel I have found a problem that I can't understand nor solve regarding this William B. Pate. He is found the the 1880 census living in Stephens County Texas, Prect 8, ED 172 living with his wife at that time named Susan. He is 29 and Susan is 28. They appear at the bottom of the page and the page that follows lists three children that appear to be a continuation from the household of William B. Page except that have the last name of Carral/Carrol. There ages appear to be well within the range of ages that could indicated there were the children of Susan. These children appear on page 33B. This is the William B. Pate who had a sister Josephine Johannah Pate. Johannah was married to Virgil Stewart Maddox and this family appears just above the William B. Pate. The child that is listed with Virgil Maddox is Nora and she is from a prior marriage and her mother is dead. Also it seems that William and Johannah stayed in touch and for the most part lived near one another. She is buried in the Springer Cemetery along with her husband Virgil Steward but I have not found the grave for William B.Pate. Do you have any clues that might help. One other item, I am seeing the maiden name of the mother of William B and Josephine as Love and that is not true. She was married to a Daniel Love. in Illinois. In fact she had several husbands. Would appreciate your help. ellen -------------- Original message from "Joel Pate" <patej@nettally.com>: -------------- > Karen: > George Washington Pate > Thomas Jefferson Pate > James Madison Pate > Andrew Jackson Pate > Grover Cleveland Pate > {I can even find you one John Quincy Adams Pate) > Our Pate ancestors honored our Presidents by naming their children after > them.
