Thanks Joel, Jinks & Pacia for all the replys. I was missing the 1910 Houston census listing Alice Pate as a widow with the child dec'd. I guess she just went back to being a Pate since she is on 3 censuses that way. Thanks also for the clarification on B. A. Pate of Holmes county FL. I'll keep looking for Benjamin Swinney Pate. In my database I have that Lena Lorene Pate married a Williams (source not identified but probably from the John Ben Pate data) so the 1904 Homer B Williams marriage may be the correct one.
