I know Oscar is my husband's great-uncle - son of Joseph Francis Pate and Mattie Barrington. I would GUESS that there was no direct connection between your Joseph Francis Pate line and the Madison Mayberry Pate line other than the fact that they both lived in Bell Co TX for period.
