Jinks: Back on 4/26/2005 your wrote-- Joel - think I can answer a couple of questions for you -- according to "FAMILY LORE" - Robert Hamilton Pate left his wife, Parthena, between 1855-60 - and married Nancy Parker in 1862. Robert H & Nancy had 3 girls, Sarah E, b. 14 Jan 1863; Malinda C, b. ca 1866 and Mary A, b. Aug 1869. Robert H Pate d. 2 May 1869, evidently right before Mary A's birth, if the year of her birth is correct. I do not find the widow, Nancy Pate until 1900 Clay Co, IL. Susan Cecilia "Lollie" Faudree - wife of Robert Conaway Pate - d. 8 Mar 1870 of typhoid fever, so she was probably not in the 1870 census. Robert C Pate & wife, Mary "Mamie" are in 1880 Madison Co, IL.
