Hello all researchers . This is a duo request . George Pate born 30/1/1773 Lanarkshire married Elizabeth (Bethea) Unknown born 29/5/1776 at Hamilton in December 1794 .Known children James Muir Pate b or bp 1803 and George b or bp1815 Lanarkshire . George married Janet McAra 1/2/1834 atKirkliston. Known children George and John b or bp c1840 . Father George died 16/3/1841 at Hamilton . Did the grandparents raise these boys who came out to Australia , Son George came out 1854 and died in a mining accident 1871 and John came out to Launceston Tasmania c1859 where you have a large number of Pates-Muirs and Kanes . ( In Lesmahagow we have Pates and Muirs living in this town from 1691 to 1841 as per the tenant list ).
