I'm posting a revision on my Pate Family AL61 which I originally posted on 11/23/02. I recently received a copy of a death certificate which cleared up several things. I had originally thought David R Pate and Russell Pate were two separate children - but evidently they are one and the same - David Russell Pate. Also it combines my Jeremiah Pate (originally AL65) to be the son of this David Russell Pate. Jeremiah Pate, b. c 1770, d. Sep 1840, Morgan Co, AL md (1) Unknown (this is possibly Rhoda Pate - Jeremiah's children inherited as grandchildren of Thomas Pate of Cocke Co, TN, father of Rhoda Pate, dec'd) (2) Mary (??)-Green Children (of first marriage only) Mary "Polly" Pate, b. c 1793 md Jeremiah Romines Thomas Pate, b. c 1794 md Christina Borden Rhoda Pate, b. c 1800 Sarah "Sally" Pate, b. c 1802 md Joshua Blankenship David Russell Pate, b. c 1803 md Cynthia Gay- father of Jeremiah Pate below Lucinda Pate, b. c 1807 Catherine "Kitty" Pate, b. c 1807 md James Welch Elizabeth "Betsy" Pate, b. c 1811 md David Adams Stephen Pate, b. c 1812 d. 7 Dec 1862 md Isabella A Hill Matthew Williams Pate, b. c 1818 md Mahala P Collins The death certificate of Jeremiah Pate, son of Russell Pate shows: Jeremiah Pait, b. 12 Feb 1839, Springfield, MO d. 21 Nov 1910, 71y 10m 9d. Father, Russell Pate; Mother, Sintha Gay. The b. Springfield, MO was evidently in error - he was living in Greene Co, MO, but must have been born in AL. David Russell Pate was living in 1840 Tallapoosa Co, AL and 1850 Morgan Co, AL. As always, any additions or corrections are welcome.
