    3. Hi Margaret - haven't heard from you in a while - I'm still kicking too - but just learned I have ovarian cancer, so am going thru chemo, etc - so far, so good!! No real problems. I've been going back over my files and trying to update where I can. One thing we were discussing was the marriage of L A Pate & C C Surles. I finally found some census records on them, if you don't have them 1910 Henderson Co, TX JOHN C Surles, age 54, md (2) 29 yrs; TX/TN/TN Lucy A Surles, age 54, md (1) 29 yrs; TX/GA/GA Andrew D Surles, age 19 Willie V Surles, age 17 (female) 1920 Henderson Co, TX CHRISTOPHER C Surles, age 63; TX/TN/TN Lucy A Surles, age 63; TX/US/US I could not find the family in 1900. Can't imagine why he was listed as John, then as Christopher, or maybe he had 3 "front" names. Also in the 1880 Henderson Co, TX Thomas Miller, age 23 Amanda Miller, age 30, wife Lucy Pate, age 22, sis-in-law Mittie Pate, age 14, sis-in-law (I was given her name as Mary Almittie Pate - md William V Holt -see 1900 census Ella Pate, age 11, step dau Jefferson Pate, age 9, step son Ophilla Pate, age 7, step dau J B Pate, age 5, step son Lucy & Mittie would be sisters of Amanda's first husband, Green Berry Pate - the step children would be children of Amanda & Green Berry Pate. Think we had quite a discussion on these families- what do you think on this??
