Helen: There was a John Pate who married a Rebecca Pate in Sussex Co VA 12 May 1804. I have often wondered if she was Rebecca Hail(es) Pate, widow of William Pate or perhaps if she was Rebecca Pate, dau of Edward and Lucretia Pate of Sussex Co. Kinchen Felts was the bondsman for the 1804 marriage license. REbeccah Pate aughter of Edward Pate had a son Burrell no mention of who his father was . Edwards will was probated Apr 1805 I am updating my old files and hoing someone has found more than we had before.
